Funeral Services Wednesday for Walton Ketcham

LANGDON (Special): Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock at the Elmer C. Ketcham home, northeast of Spencer for Walton Elmer Ketcham, 14, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Ketcham, who died Tuesday morning, January 15, 1935, at five o'clock from pneumonia following an illness of scarlet fever. He had been ill two weeks.

The funeral was private, as the home is under quarantine, two other children being ill with the disease. They are getting along nicely.

Rev. M. M. Schaper, pastor of the Langdon Methodist church, of officiated. Interment was in the Meadow township cemetery.

Student at Lake Center

Walton was born June 26, 1920, at Spencer, the son of Elmer C. and Margaret Tlam Ketcham. He was 14 years, six months and 19 days of age at his death. After attending the rural schools in Sioux township, he enrolled at the Lake Center high school, and was also a member of the Langdon M. E. Sunday school.

Besides his father and mother, three sisters and three brothers survive: Harriet, Marjory, Marilyn, Darrel, Tedwin and Bernard; also his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Ketcham of Whittier, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Tiam of Langdon; three uncles, four aunts, and eight cousins, besides other relatives and friends.

The death comes as a tragedy in the home circle. Last week a sister of Mrs. Ketcham, Miss Florence Tlam of Langdon passed away. The sorrowing parents and relatives have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends.
