Death of Mrs. Charles F. Marker

A sad death occurred in this city last Saturday, when Mrs. Mary J. Marker passed the portal of the great beyond. She was the beloved wife of Chas. F. Marker, and two little children, one a mere babe, were left motherless. It is hard to understand why so many are cut off in the morning of life and hopes of youth; why many are wisely, yet so mysteriously called away from places of usefulness; but what we whow [sic] not now, we shall know hereafter; for he who watches the fall of a sparrow, orders well the issues of life.

Mary J. Griffin was born June 23, 1885, and was united to Chas. F. Marker Nov. 11, 1900. Two children were born, one is about two years of age, the other a tiny babe. About ten weeks ago she suffered an attack of pneumonia from which she never recovered died May 2nd 1903. The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. P. F. Marker Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. D.M. Yetter officiated. The body was laid to rest in Riverside cemetery.
