F. A. Squire Dead

Although it was known for some time that F. A. Squire, of riverton township, was seriously ill, the residents of this city and community were greviously shocked last Wednesday when it became known that he had passed away that morning. For many years he had taken a prominent part in the upbuilding of Clay county and his wise counsel and timely advice will be sadly missed by those who were wont to seek his aid in times of trouble.

Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. O. M. Bond, and the remains interred in Riverside cemetery. Frank A. Squire was born in Waterloo, Wisconsin, February 29, 1858. In 1865 he came with his parents to Mitchell county, Iowa, where they resided until 1872 when they located in this counry. On October 7, 1885, he was united in marriage to Miss Dora Searles. To this union was born a daughter, Josie M., who, with the bereaved wife, is left to mourn the loss of him who was a loving husband and father.
