Ellis Thayer Morgan was born at Cresco on July 3, 1899 to Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Morgan. His death at his home at Spencer, October 5, following a prolonged illness.

Before coming to Spencer in 1922, Mr. Morgan had resided at Cresco.

His marriage to Pearl Eggers took place at Fostoria, June 20, 1924 and to this union two children were born. They are Mrs. Lowell (Gretchen) Hagedorn of Spencer and Lowell Morgan of Moville. They survive as do his wife and grandchildren, two brothers; Leon Morgan of Cresco and Burton Morgan of Lime Springs; one sister; Mrs. Marjorie Shaffer of Waterloo.

Mr. Morgan was engaged in farming and was a member of the Methodist Church and American Legion. He was secretary of the Sioux Township School Board, Director of the National Farm Loan Association at Spencer, member of the Sioux Township Farm Bureau and was member of the official board of the Methodist Church.

Mr. Morgan had been a resident of Sioux Township for 38 years.

Funeral services were held at Warner Funeral Chapel, October 7, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Floyd L. Hinshaw of Grace United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Summit Center Township Cemetery.

Pallbearers; Louis Hagdorn, Lawrence LeClair, Keith Eninger, Iver Johnson, Russell King and Merrill Thayer.
