January 1, 1934- November 3, 1983

Funeral services for Roland (Bee) Burnell, 49, of Everly were held Monday, November 7, 1983 at 10:30 a.m. at the Warner Chapel in Spencer, Iowa.

The Rev. Larry Moore officiated the service.

Pallbearers; Roger Daughtery, Lance Selzer, Kenneth Bailey, Ervin Grover, Mark Rilea and Mel Lennox.

Interment was in the Summit View Cemetery of rural Everly.

Roland (Bee) Clark Burnell, the son of Tome and Rose (Denio) Burnell, was born January 1, 1934 in Fort Dodge.

He married Shirley Ann Marr, Novemeber 22, 1953 at Fort Dodge. They lived in the Spencer area until 1959 when they moved to Milford. In 1962, they moved to their present home near Everly.

(Bee) worked at Spencer Foods for 25 years, three years with the Kosher operation and nine years in management. He was a partner with Ken Bailey in B&B Milford Locker. During this time they won 12 state awards through the Iowa Meat Association and the Iowa State Fair. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Spencer.

On Thursday, November 3, 1983, (Bee) passed away at his home in Everly, following a long struggle with cancer.

Survivors include his wife Shirley; three daughters, Julie Ann Decker of Linn Grove, Vandy Rae McFarlane of Milford, and Melodie Lynn Hanrick of Spencer; his parents; four brothers, Ronald and Jack, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Noel of Gowrie and Bert of Cypress, California; a sister Leanna Naber of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and six grandchildren.

The Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
