Arlene G. Hargrave, 85, of Elmore, Minn., passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at Parker Oaks in Winnebago, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. Rev. Robert Roettger will officiate.

Visitation time will be Wednesday at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th St., in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services.

Interment will be at Dickens Cemetery in Dickens at 1:30 p.m., Thursday.

Arlene was born May 12, 1922, at Pilot Grove Township, Minn., the daughter of Cort and Dessie (Bruer) Rippentrop. She was raised and educated in the Elmore area where she attended Faribault Co. District School No. 129. She was married to Fred "Bud" Hargrave on April 18, 1957, in Elmore. Later in 1957 the couple moved to Dickens where Arlene worked at the Spencer Hospital in the Dietary Department for over 20 years. She was a member of the Dickens United Methodist Church. Following Bud's death in December 1985, Arlene returned to the Elmore area in early 1986 where she owned and showed horses. She had been a member of the Spencer, Iowa Saddle Club, Elmore Saddle Club and Blue Earth Saddle Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud; brothers: Melvin and Jim Rippentrop; a daughter-in-law, Joanne Larsen; a sister-in-law, Helen Rippentrop; and a son-in-law, Judd Salmon.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Dessie Ibanez and husband, Jose Luis of Elmore; her daughter, Ruth Anne Miner of Ruthven; her son, Dean Larsen of Elmore, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Interment in Dickens cemetery
