Hazel Naomi Jones, the daughter of Elmer and Florence Edna Bushey DuBois, was born September 29, 1915 in the Harmony neighborhood at Spencer, IA. She attended Harmony school and church and graduated from Greenville High School.

She married Floyd Eldon "Chub" Jones and made their home in Dickens until war time when they lived in Chicago, IL and San Anselmo, California returning to Iowa in 1945. Hazel worked at the grocery store in Dickens and was a bookkeeper at the Dickens Elevator and Walsh Oil Company. She worked for Modern Business for 10 years before retiring in 1979, when she moved to Spencer. She was a member of the Dickens United Methodist Church and the Dickens Birthday Club and cemetery association.

Hazel passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home on Friday, February 16, 2007 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldon "Chub" on August 3, 1968; one brother, Faurest; 3 sisters: Helen Lykins, Dorothy Henry and Claryce Applebee; a sister-in-law, Toni DuBois.

She is survived by one daughter, Marlene and her husband, Jack Hamrick of West Des Moines, IA; four grandchildren and their spouses: Kathy and Bob Albin of West Des Moines, IA, Tom and Kari Hamrick of Greene, IA, Peg and Roger Moler of Conrad, IA and Sue and Andy Rodawig of Dakota Dunes, SD; six great grandchildren; one brother, Dean DuBois of Clinton, Utah; 2 sister-in-laws: Elinore DuBois of Gardnerville, NV and Anabel Tielbur of Spencer; and many other relatives and friends.
