Edwin (Eddie) Oliver Hansen, the son of E.J. and Myrtie (Albertson) Hansen, was born August 24, 1918 in Clay County, Dickens, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Dickens community and it was there that he received his education.
Edwin married Dora B. King on March 2, 1943. They lived in the Ruthven, Dickens and Terril areas where they farmed until they retired and moved to Spencer, IA in 1983. Before farming Edwin did grain and gravel trucking.
Mr. Hansen was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, IA. He enjoyed the activities of his grandchildren and the many weekends spent with them. They were a joy to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dora, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Edwin is survived by his son, Dean, and wife, Joan Hansen, of Sheldon, IA; one granddaughter, Heather Bass, and husband, Jeffrey, of Miami, FL; one grandson, Bryce Hansen, of Sheldon, IA; one great grandson, Connor Bass, of Miami, Fl; one brother, Paul, of Sarasota, FL and wife, Frances; sister-in-law, Edith Hansen, of Spencer, IA; sister-in-law, JoAnn Hansen, of Austin, TX; other relatives and many friends.
