February 26, 1900- September 5, 1992

Mary Schmidt, 92, of Spencer, died Saturday, September 5, 1992 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today in the First Reformed Church in Everly with the Rev. Gerald Norman officiating.

Casket Bearers; Jay Hermstad, Mark Schmidt, Brent Schmidt, Steve Schmidt, Kirby Schmidt and Jay Schmidt.

Burial will be in the First Reformed Cemetery, Everly. The Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Schmidt was born February 26, 1900, Waterford Township, Clay County, the daughter of John and Ida (Groenewold) Ringering. She received her early education there.

She married John Schmidt on January 31, 1923, in Waterford Township. Following their marriage, they farmed in that area for many years. Mrs. Schmidt was a life-long member of the First Reformed Church in rural Everly, and for the past eight years she lived in St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and one brother.

She is survived by five sons; Alferd and his wife, Mary Jean; Dale and his wife Mary G; Richard; Walt and his wife Lillian; all of Spencer; Robert and his wife, Audrey, Hartley; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Martha Tiam of Sherburn, Minnesota
