Dirksen Services Pending

Services for Steve Dirksen, 83, will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Warner Funeral Home, Spencer. Rev. Robert Bell will officiate. Burial will be in the Reformed Church Cemetery, Fostoria.

Mr. Dirksen died Sunday at Spencer Municipal Hospital.

He was born March 1, 1884 in Hardin County, Iowa to John and Ida (Groenewold) Dirksen. He was married to Kathryn Kromminga, December 20, 1917 at the Reformed Parsonage in Clay County. He farmed in the Everly Community until 1925 when he moved to Fostoria. He returned to Everly in 1941.

Mr. Dirksen was a resident of Delaney Nursing Home in Spencer from February 2, 1967, until 10 days ago.

Survivors include a son, Oliver of Everly; two daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Evelyn) Murray of Hudson, Iowa and Mrs, Harold (Arlene) Thorberg of Petersburg, Nebraska; eight grandchildren and two brothers, Theodore of Everly and John J. of Lake Center.

He was preceded in death by his wife on June 9, 1958, and his parents, one sister and two brothers.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Everly
