Died--At his home in Bowdel, N. Dakota, Friday, Feb. 8, 1907, Thomas C. Dodd, aged 60 years, 11 months and 28 days.

Thomas Dodd came to Iowa in an early day and was for some time a resident of Delaware county. He enlisted in the 21st Iowa Infantry where he served for a time and was discharged on account of disability. He reinlisted in the Seventh Cavalry and served the latter part of the war.

Mr. Dodd settled in Douglas township, Clay county in the fall of 1868. He was married to Anna Watts who died in 1869 leaving no children. Mr. Dodd married Martha J. Eckley of this county. To this union there were born four children, three sons and one daughter; Perry, Charles and Fred and Lysle. Mr. Dodd with his family moved to North Dakota about six years ago. He was a man of upright and honorable life. The high esteem in which he was held by those who knew him was amply attested by the large number who attended the funeral to pay their last respect to their departed friend and neighbor.

The remains were brought to Spencer for interment and were laid to rest Monday afternoon. The funeral services were held in the M.E. church conducted by the presiding elder, Rev. Hugh Hay. The remains were accompanied to Spencer by his son, Charles, and daughter, Lysle, who returned to their home Tuesday.
