Charles Clarksean
February 18, 1858-November 16, 1937

Charles Clarksean, son of Fred and Sophia (Bauman) Clarksean, was born near Buffalo, New York, on February 18, 1858 and died November 16, 1937, being 79 years, 8 months and 29 days old.

Mr. Clarksean was united in marriage in 1886 with Miss Mary Rietzaw at Kewaunee, Wisconsin. To this union were born four children, Walter, of Alpha, Minnesota, Bernhart of Wadena, Minnesota, and Ray and Esther at home.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Clarksean moved to near Sutherland, Iowa and four years later moved to the home farm.

Mr. Clarksean is survived by his wife, four children, 2 daughters-in-law, 7 grandchildren, 1 brother, August of Wisconsin, and one sister of Chicago. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Clarksean will also be missed by many other relatives and friends who valued his friendship very highly.

He was a man who had traveled, having lived in Colorado, Illinois, Wisconsin and California though spending most of his life in Iowa.

Mr. Clarksean was truly a pioneer of O'Brien County and endured many hardships that go with pioneer life. He was a kind and loving husband and father, a good neighbor and a true friend and will be greatly missed in the home and community where he loved for so many years.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, Thursday afternoon, November 18, 1937, at two o'clock in charge of Rev. E.J. Plummer, the music being furnished by the Young People's Quartette. Interment was made in the Everly Cemetery.
