Edward Whiting Church
October 14, 1900-December 17, 1962Edward Whiting Church, the son of Charles and Julia (Whiting) Church, was born October 14, 1900 at Cleveland, Ohio. He passed away suddenly at his home near Moneta, Iowa on December 17, 1962 at the age of 62 years, 2 months and 3 days.
He had lived in the Hartley and Moneta area about 17 years. He formerly resided at Whiting and Hornick, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University at Ames. He had been engaged in farming for the past 40 years.
He was a member of the Methodist Church at Moneta.
On June 11, 1924 he was united in marriage to Ruth Willits at Whiting, Iowa. To them were born two children, Larry of Moneta and Lloyd, now of Reno, Nevada.
Besides his wife and sons, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Tillinghast of Willoughby, Ohio, and Miss Dana Church of Honolulu, Hawaii, as well as other relatives and many friends.
Services were Wednesday, December 19, 1962, at 2:00 p.m. from the Baumgarten Funeral Home.
Pallbearers; Wayne Gillespie, L. B. Keene, Wayne Woodall, Ray Anderegg, Kenneth E. Engel and Darrell Negus.
Interment was made at Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly, Iowa.
