January 19, 1913-March 29, 1995

Funeral services were held at Union Memorial Church, Milford, on Saturday, April 1, 1995, for Harold C. Blair, age 82, of West Okoboji. Rev. Karen Dungan officiated.

Pallbearers; Debra Jessen, Dale Blair, Kristen Bostad, Bob Bostad, Brian Blair and Michelle Blair.

Honorary Bearers; Richard Harris, Mark Johnson, Verland Meyer, Gene Reynolds, Charles Schuck and Mark Wehrspann.

Harold Charles Blair was born to Eugene and Carrie (Applegate) Blair on January 19, 1913, at Webb. After graduating from Webb High School, he attended and graduating from Westmar College at LeMars.

In April of 1938, Harold was united in marriage to Leona (Berger) Nydahl at Blair, Nebraska. He taught school at Sioux Rapids and Dickens prior to becoming Superintendent of Schools at Ocheyedan in 1939. In 1952, he became Superintendent of Schools at Everly, serving there until his retirement in 1975. He has made his home at West Lake Okoboji since retirement.

Harold was a member of the Union Memorial Church of Milford and the Abu Bekr Shine of Sioux City. He served on the Board of Directors of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and officiated at the Iowa State Girls Basketball Tournaments. He referred baseball, basketball and football in northwest Iowa for many years. In addition, he enjoyed traveling.

Harold died Wednesday, March 29, 1995, at Spencer.

Surviving are three sons; David Blair and his wife, Joyce, of Everly; Charles Blair and his wife, Patty, of Burnsville, Minnesota; and Stanley Blair and Karen Kulper of Guttenberg; daughter, Karen Bostad and her husband, John, of Mound, Minnesota; six grandchildren; Dale and Pam Blair of Everly; Debra and Kelly Jessen of Everly; Kristen Bostad and Joe Druskin of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Bob Bostad of St. Cloud, Minnesota; and Brian and Michelle; five great-grandchildren; sister, Ida Cole; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona, in 1969; his parents; and ten brothers and sisters.

Interment was in Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly.

Turner Funeral Home of Milford was in charge of arrangements.
