Melvin Conrad Aakhus
December 8, 1910-January 1, 1977

Funeral for Melvin Conrad Aakhus, 66, of Everly was held Tuesday from Hope Lutheran Church of Everly.

Pastor Roger Hanson officiated. Burial was at Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly.

Bearers were Alfred Bunker, Everett Hintz, Roger Cooper, Charles Pemke, Dale Holleson and Ronald Schoenewe.

Mr. Aakhus died January 1, 1977 at his home.

He was born on December 8, 1910, to Tellek and Ingenborg (Norness) Aakhus at McInrosh, Minnesota.

On February 28, 1939, he was married to Vivian Johnson at Fosston, Minnesota.

He received his education at McIntosh and moved to Everly in 1943 where he had lived ever since. His occupation was a trucker.

Surviving are his widow, Vivian; three sons, Douglas of Phoenix, Arizona, Larry of Lawton, Iowa and Dean of Milford; five daughters, Mrs. Dale (Linda) Nellis and Mrs. Dick (Marlene) Brookhill, both of Sutherland; Mrs. Bruce (Myrna) Yeager of Webster City; Mrs. Ronald (Carol) Lowe of Maquoketa and Mrs. Dennis (Holly) Baysinger of Spencer, and 19 grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Ted Aakhus of Lincoln, Nebraska; Andy Aakhus of McIntosh, Minnesota, and Arnold Aakhus of Fosston, Minnesota, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Thelma) Wedding, and Mrs, James (Beatrice) Winterboer, both of Seattle, Washington.

He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and a sister and a grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.

Interment in Lone Tree cemetery
