John J. Moriarty, 1843-1916

Friday morning, April 21, occurred the death of Mr. J. J. Moriarty. He has been in very poor health for about a year. He was about seventy-five years old, a veteran of the civil war. Besides the family and relatives, Mr. Moriarty has a host of friends who will miss him sorely. The sympathy of all is with the bereaved ones.

Passing of J. J. Moriarty

On Friday morning, April 21, 1916, occurred the death of J. J. Moriarity, a highly respected resident of the Greenville neighborhood. Mr. Moriarty had been in poor health for about a year and while his death was not unexpected, yet it fell with sad force on the family. The immediate cause of his death was due to heart failure. Mr. Moriarity was a native of Ireland and was born in that country on July 26, 1843, and at the time of his death was 72 years, 7 months and 25 days of age. He was a veteran of the Civil war and a man who was held in high regard by his friends and neighbors. Besides his wife he leaves a number of children. The funeral has been set for Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock, services to be held from the Friends church at Greenville and will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. Waldo Reece. Interment will be made in the Greenville cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their hour of sorrow.
