July 29, 1921-June 10, 1998

Earlen Seaman, 76, Spencer, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Warner Chapel, Spencer, with the Rev. Tonna Parsons and Curtis Batschelet officiating.

Military services will be conducted by Glen Pedersen Post #1-American Legion of Spencer.

Casket bearers will be L.A. White Jr., Don Schoer, Richard Schott, Everett Amis, Joe Beck, and T.J. Haaland Jr.

Honorary casket bearers will be Alex Seaman, Chad Seaman, Gabe Seaman, and Michell Kleinwachter.

Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery, Greenville, with Warner Funeral Home of Spencer in charge of arrangements.

Earlen L. Seaman, the son of Lee and Lillian (Seymour) Seaman, was born July 29, 1921, in Spencer. His childhood years were spent in the communities of Ruthven, Greenville and Rossie where he received his early education. After graduating from Rossie High School, he attended Penn College.

He entered the Navy in October, 1940 during World War ll, and was stationed on board the USS Pennsylvania in Hawaii on December 7, 1941, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. He received his discharge in April, 1946. In 1991, he returned
to Hawaii for the 50th year reunion.

On November 8, 1947, he married Margaret Chaffin in Jackson, Minnesota. Throughout their marriage they made their home in the Greenville community, where he farmed until retiring in 1993. He was a member of Glenn Pedersen Post #1 of the American Legion and Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddughter abd one brother.

Mr Seaman is survived by his wife; two sons; Lee Seaman and his wife, Carol, of Spencer; and Micheal Seaman of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one daughter, Jill Forrest and her husband, Mark, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; six grandchildren; three brothers; Ron Seaman of Emmetsburg; Bob Seaman of Gillett Grove; and Ernest Seaman of Chula Vista, California; two sisters; Betty Hofstad of Emmetsburg and Evelyn Miller of Bettendorf
