Services for Ella Mae Bowers, 96, of Spencer, were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Warner Chapel. Dr Patrick D. Shelley officiated with the burial in Liberty Cemetery in Greenville.

The soloist, Mrs. Donald Schoer, sang "In the Garden" accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Floyd Kephart.

Perry Parks, Todd Parks, Eric Parks, Jon Parks, Johnnie Heien and Dennis Heien served as the casket bearers.

Bowers, the daughter of Isral and Alice (Glover) Puckett, was born Feb. 1, 1885 in Kansas, where she received her early education before moving to Greenville. She married William Bowers in Spencer in 1913, and they lived in Greenville before moving to Spencer 40 years ago. She was a member of the First Congregational Church.

She died Friday at the Longhouse Residence in Spencer. Bowers was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Clarence; one daughter, Ruby; two grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include on son, Roy Bowers of Milford; one daughter, Mrs. Fern Heien of Spencer; five grandchildren; one brother, James Puckett of Waterloo; and two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Zurn of Olivia, Minn. and Mrs. Ellen Macziewski of St. Paul, Minn.

The Warner Funeral Home was in charge of the service arrangement.

Interment in Liberty cemetery
