Ida Marie Wilmelmina Lundt was born January 25, 1865, in Prussia, Germania. Her parents being active church members, the deceased was baptized soon after her birth. At the age of 14 she was confirmed and gave a splendid testimony of her faith. When 16 years of age she came to this country as an emigrant, where she lived until her death. She became naturalized and revealed her loyalty to the land of her adoption throughout the years, and especially during the recent titanic struggle, giving liberally of her means and also of her sons who were dear to her.

January 27, 1883, she was joined in holy wedlock with Juergen Reimer Lundt, who was residing in Iowa county at the time. Three years later the family moved to Clay county, locating on the present farm where the Lundt family has lived for 33 years. This happy union was blessed with 10 children, three of which had preceded the mother in death, Elisa, Mathilda and George Washington. Those living are Peter, Reimer, William, John, Fred, Lena and Lillie. In 1905 the deceased lost her devoted husband, leaving her alone in this world to care for the children.

Mrs. Lundt closed her eyes in death February 13, 1919, at 5:00 o'clock in the morning, reaching the age of 54 years and 19 days. The cause of death was double pneumonia. The deceased leaves to mourn her loss 8 children; one brother, John Voss; two sisters, Bertha of Duron, Minn., and Minnie of Reinbeck, Iowa; and other relatives and many friends.

In the home Mrs. Lundt was a kind loving mother; in the vicinity, a kind and desired neighbor. She was active and zealous in the affairs of the church, its welfare being close to her heart. She was a member of Greenville Trinity Ladies Aid.

Services were held at the home Sunday morning, February 16. Many friends paid their last honor and respect through their presence. The service was in charge of the pastor, M.F. Wolfrag. Interment was made in Greenville cemetery.
