Mrs. Anton L. Barglof, a resident of Clay county for many years, passed away at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, Wednesday, October 26, 1921, after an illness of five weeks. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ralph Clemons, pastor of the Friends chuch at Greenville on Sunday, October 30, 1921. Interment was made in Liberty cemetery at Greenville.

Christine Swanson was born in Sweden on November 1, 1856, being at the age of sixty-four years, eleven months and twenty-six days at the time of her death. She came to this country in 1881 and was united in marriage to Anton L. Barglof near Royal, Iowa, on September 25, 1887. She had spent her married life in Clay county with the exception of six years which were spent in Spirit Lake.

From early childhood she was a member of the Lutheran church and after moving to Spirit Lake joined the Presbyterian church of that place. Her life had been a busy life and one devoted to God, her family and her home, and her faith in God was most implicit and confident.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and eight children, Mrs. Blanche Reeves, Mrs. Ida Misner, Mrs. Mabel Seaman, Mrs. Anna Middah, and Pearl, Fred, Lud and Arthur Barglof. She also leaves twelve grandchildren, two sisters in Sweden, one brother, John Swanson, of Greenville, and a wide circle of friends.
