Aged Everly Man Dies

Death of Henry W. Moeller Occurred Thursday--Funeral Held at Everly on Saturday Last

The death of Henry W. Moeller, which occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Theodore Dehrkopp, at Everly, Thursday afternoon has saddened the community and many hearts hold sympathy for the bereaved children of the deceased.

The funeral was held in the Lutheran church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. Walstrom, preaching the sermon. Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery.

Henry W. Moeller was the son of Henry Moeller and Sophia Osborne, deceased. He was born at Rosdob, Holestein, Germany, in 1843, and was seventy-six years of age at the time of his death which was due to cancer of the stomach.

When a youth he came to America and in 1864 was united in marriage to Miss Anna Nirren at Moline, Illinois. They moved from Moline to Keystone, Iowa, in 1865, locating on a farm near that place where they lived until 1883 when they came to Clay county and settled on a farm near Everly. In 1892 Mr. Moeller left the farm. The past four years he has lived in Minneapolis, returning a short time before his death to Everly.

He was the father of ten children, three of whom are deceased, W.W., August and Husman. Those living are: Henry H. Moeller, Mrs. Mary Dehrkopp, Mrs. Sophia Jersen, O.P. Moeller, Mrs. Anna Jurgens of Everly, Mrs. Emma Goetsch of Luverne, Minnesota, and Mrs. Dora Burger of Delmont. Besides his sons and daughters he is survived by twenty-two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Moeller, during all his thirty-six years of residence in Clay county, won the respect of the entire community. He was a good and faithful citizen and will be missed by his relatives and other friends.
