The death of George Ross of Sioux Rapids, formerly of Douglas township, occurred on Friday of last week. Mr. Ross had reached the late old age of eighty-four and was a splendid stalwart Christian character of great influence. He was a regular attendant of Douglas Center church when he lived here and since moving to Sioux Rapids a faithful member of the Baptist church. He leaves his wife [Sylvia Luther Ross] and two sons, Seymour E. Ross of Webb and Luther, pastor of the Baptist church at Webb, beside a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their friends here join in sympathy with Mrs. Ross and sons in the loss of this splendid husband and father, whose life was lived so nobly and where influence meant so much. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at Sioux Rapids and internment was made in Fanny Fern cemetery, west of Cornell, beside that of a daughter.
