Andrew Ericksen passed away at his home January 1, 1916, after a short illness. Mr. Ericksen was born in Sweden September 16, 1839, where he lived until 1868, when he came to America, settling at Kewanee, Ill. In 1869 he was married to Miss Anna Sophia Frauson. Six children were born to this union. In 1876 he moved to Page county, Iowa, and in 1879 was again married to Mathilda Sophia Anderson. They moved to Buena Vista county in 1883 where they lived for thirteen years coming then to Clay county where they lived on a farm for a number of years. In 1913 with his family he moved to Spencer where he spent the remainder of his life. He was a member of the Swedish Lutheran church for many years. Mr. Ericksen was a very industrious and capable man who made many friends and kept them by kind and gentlemanly manner. He leaves a wife and eleven children to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Monday conducted by Rev. O.M. Bond and Rev. Gustafson. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
