Barbara Jeanne Lemon Wilson, 1918-2009

Barbara Jeanne Wilson, the daughter of Elgin and Marie (Kraeger) Lemon, was born December 1, 1918, in Sibley, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Sibley where she attended school.

On December 28, 1935, Barbara was united in marriage to Gilbert Wilson in Sioux Falls, SD. To this union was born a daughter, Patricia. During their marriage they made their home in the communities of Sibley, Royal, Clear Lake, and Spirit Lake. Barbara owned and operated a cafe in Royal and was a bookkeeper for a bakery in Clear Lake before the couple owned and operated the Lazy Lagoon Marina on West Lake Okoboji until retiring in 1975. She lived in Spirit Lake until moving to the Good Samaritan Home in Windom, MN, four years ago.

Jeanne enjoyed playing cards, crafts, knitting, and being by the lake, but most of all she loved being with her family and friends.

Jeanne passed away May 21, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Home in Windom, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Wilson; one daughter, Patricia Menke; parents, Elgin and Marie Lemon; one grandson, James Bennett Mugge; and four brothers: Hobart, Seth, Richard, and Elgin E. Lemon.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Bette Evans of Maine; one brother, Paul (Jo) Lemon of Texas; four grandchildren: Jeff Mugge of Grimes, IA, Joe Mugge of Cherokee, IA, Carol (Bryan) Kipfer of Bingham Lake, MN, and Nancy (William) Metcalf of South Sioux City, NE; one son-in-law, Bob Menke Sr.; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandson; as well as other relatives and many friends.
