Victim of Auto Accident Dies

Mrs. Lars Hendricksen Who Was Injured on June 22nd Passes Away

Mrs. Lars Hendricksen died at her home in Royal at 1:30 a.m. last Friday, July 8, 1927. She had been suffering for two weeks from injuries received in an automobile accident which occurred Wednesday, June 22. A car in which she was riding with four other people went off the grade at John Olson's corner just outside Royal and turned upside down on top of its five passengers. Mrs. Hendricksen was unconscious and had injuries to her chest. She seemed to be out of danger but a blood clot formed near the heart last week, which caused her death.

Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 o'clock and at the Danish Lutheran church at Royal at 2:00 o'clock last Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. N.C. Carlsen of Royal. Interment was made at Willow Creek cemetery.

Dorine Jensine Madson was born November 6, 1866 at Racine, Wis. At the age of two years she moved to Clay county, Iowa, where she has since resided. She was married June 12, 1884 to Lars Hendricksen. To this union five children were born of whom one preceded the mother in death, while four survive.

Mr. and Mrs. Hendricksen farmed near Royal until 1920 when they moved to Royal. Mrs. Hendricksen had reached the age of sixty years, seven months and two days.

She is survived by her husband, Lars Hendricksen, two sons, Peter and Edward of Royal, two daughters, Mrs. James Hagedorn and Mrs. Chris Mortensen, also of Royal, her father, Peter Madson of Ceylon, Minnesota, a brother, Albert Madson and a sister, Mrs. Simon Hagedorn, both of Royal, besides twelve grandchildren.

Mrs. Hendricksen was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church during her earlier life and remained a member until her death. She was a loving mother and had a wide circle of friends who will mourn her passing.
