Alice Peters Mundt, 1909-2007

Alice Mathilda Mundt, the daughter of John and Sophie (Wede) Peters was born December 11, 1909 in Everly, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Everly where she received her schooling graduating from Everly High School. Following graduation Alice attended and graduated from the Minneapolis School of Beauty Culture in 1928. Alice owned and operated the Everly Beauty Shop where she was a beautician.

On December 3, 1930, Alice was united in marriage to Walter Mundt in Everly. Following their marriage Alice worked at home raising their family.

Alice was an active community member in Everly. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was active in numerous church circles and women's groups. In her leisure time, Alice enjoyed playing golf at the Spencer Golf and Country Club where she was a member for 25 years. Alice also enjoyed spending time at their cottage at Lake Okoboji but most of all she loved being around her family.

On July 23, 2007, Alice passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; three brothers; and one infant son.

Left to cherish her memory are one son, Gerald (Elaine) Mundt, of Warwick, NY; two grandchildren, JoAnn Birkholz and Scott Mundt; four great-grandchildren: Sarah, Eric, Justin, and Colton; other relatives and friends.
