The community was very much shocked last Saturday morning to hear the G. E. Fountain had died suddenly in the night from heart failure. Mr. Fountain was on the street in the evening talking and joking with his friends until about 9:30 when he retired. His daughter hearing his loud breathing about 11 o'clock went to his room only to find him breathing his last. The funeral was held from the M. E. Church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and was conducted by Rev. Campbell. The remains were laid at rest at Lone Tree cemetery. Mr. Fountain and family have lived in Everly for about two years. He was manager of the local telephone line, was a genial good fellow and had made many friends in the community who extend their sympathies to the bereaved relatives.
