Mrs. Emory Harris passed away at her home in Chicago on Friday, April 29, 1927, at the age of thirty-one years, three months and twenty-two days.

Nellie Fay Blackmer, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Blackmer of Peterson, was born at Peterson January 7, 1896. She attended the Yankee school, graduating from the eighth grade, and for time attended the high school at Peterson.

In 1913 she was united in marriage with Emory L. Harris. They spent most of their married life in Clay county, living in Spencer and also in Royal. They made their home for two years on a farm near Milford, then came to Spencer and later moved to Chicago. Six children were born to this union.

Mrs. Harris was a woman of cheerful disposition and filled her place well as a loving mother and wife.

The body was brought from Chicago to Peterson and funeral services were held there Sunday, May 1, at two-thirty at the Blackmer home and at three at the Methodist church, with Rev. Thomas Batho of Sutherland in charge. Burial was made in Oakland cemetery at Peterson.

The deceased is survived by her husband; six children, Robert, Bernard, Maxine, Donald, Cleo and Shirley, a baby of two years; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Blackmer of Peterson; one brother, Roy; three sisters, Mrs. George Selzer, Beulah and Marjorie; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. P.C. Blackmer and W.L. McCown of Spencer; also numerous other relatives, and Violet Craddock who made her home with family for many years.
