Chas. R. Owens, who had been dangerously ill of goitre, for many months passed away Sunday. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Christian church, when services will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. A. Spafford, and burial will be in Riverside. The funeral will be in charge of the Masons, of which deceased was an esteemed member.
Mr. Owens was born at Zanesville, Ohio, Feb. 12, 1858, and came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Owen, to this county in 1869, settling in Meadow township, where the greater part of his life was spent. He was married in 1899 to Miss Lila Walters, and the wife and five children survive him.
Mr. Owen was a quiet, unpretentious man, who had a high sense of right and duty, by which he was ever guided. His taking away from his wife and family of young children is especially sad.
