Frederick D. Macy, former resident of Spencer and well known here, died at his home in Enid, Oklahoma, on August 17, 1925. At the time of his death he was fifty two years, six months and nine days of age.

Frederick D. Macy was born at Bangor, Iowa, February 8, 1873. In infancy he moved with his parents to Oskaloosa, Iowa, and from there, at the age of eight years he moved with his family to Smith Center, Kansas, where he spent fourteen years, graduating from the high school with the class of 1892. He he united with the Christian church at an early age. He entered Drake University for the Christian ministry, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in June 1901.

In 1902 he married Margaret Perry and to that happy union was born three sons: Bernard, now nineteen years of age, Frederick D., Jr., fifteen, and William P., seven, all of whom survive the father.

Mr. Macy's first regular pastorate was three years spent in Spencer, where in 1902 he brought his bride. He served a number of churches in Iowa, Kansas and Oklahoma, among which was the church at Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where he led the brethren in the erection of the present commodious house of worship, he served the Sonlet Avenue Christian church, New Orleans, where he purchased the lot and laid the plans for a substantial house of worship. From that pastorate he became an evangelist in Texas where his labors in the Lord were blessed abundantly. From the evangelistic field he was called to Stafford, Kansas, as pastor. His leadership in that congregation attracted the attention of the Board in Kansas and he was elected as superintendent of the southwest district, serving five years.

Two years ago he purchased a home in Enid, Oklahoma, in order to educate his sons in Phillips University. On August 20, just two years from the day they moved into their new home, his body was laid to rest in the Enid cemetery.

From his home in Enid as a center, he served the south central district of Kansas for one year and had identified himself with the Phillips Endowment Crusade a few months prior to his death.

Mr. Macy was a Mason, belonging to Stafford Lodge No. 252 A.F. and A.M., located at Stafford, Kansas. He also was a member of Joppa chapter Royal Arch Masons and the Order of Eastern Star, also of Stafford. He had petitioned Stafford Commandry Knights Templar and had been elected to receive the Templar degrees but was unable to get to Stafford to have the degree conferred.

Mr. Macy leaves an aged father, Barcley Macy, who resided in Donna, Texas, and could not be present at the funeral, and one sister, Mrs. Louis Helm of Spencer, Iowa, who arrived in Enid Wednesday night. The mother died in 1906.

The many friends and relatives mourn the loss and rejoice in his triumphant completion of a most useful, godly life. He was co-operative with his brethren, diligent in business, always serving the Lord. The funeral services, attended by a large concourse of friends, was held in the University church in Enid, president I. N. McCash and professor Harry D. Smith, officiating. The many beautiful floral offerings, telegrams and letters expressed the love of friends near and far.
