OBITUARY OF MRS. MIKE FELL

The Funeral Was Held Last Tuesday in This City

Clara A. Fowler was born Jan. 19,1867, in Keokuk county, Iowa, was married to Michael Fell, Nov. 2, 1885. They came to Clay county and settled at Everly the following year, which is the real home of the family. Some five years ago, in order to school the children, they moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she died Dec. 30, 1911. Upon the arrival of the morning train at Spencer, Tuesday, Jan 2nd, services were held at J. W.Doughty & Son's funeral parlors, conducted by the Rev. J. F. Campbell, pastor of the Everly M. E. church, ably assisted by the choir from that place. Interment at Riverside cemetery. She was the mother of eight children, four of whom are living, viz.: Anna, Sylvia and Frederick, of Cedar Falls and Mrs. Dr. thes. J. Heldt of Columbia, Mo.

Thus has the beautiful life of a wife, mother and friend been wafted from us, leaving an indelible imprint for all that is good on the communities in which she lived. Quite a number of old friends braved the severe weather to be present at the funeral. Mrs. Fell was personally known to the writer as a woman of excellent traits and sterling qualities. The younger children were unknown to us, but the older were a credit to the community and testimony to the high worth and superior qualities of their mother. We are sorry to have to record the death of so excellent a woman, just in her prime. But she had made her contribution to the world, and so will live in the lives of these she left behind.
