GRIFF JONES DIED MONDAY AT LANGDON

Griffith W. Jones, a retired farmer, died at Langdon on Monday, September 23, 1918, following a long illness from dropsy. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the M. E. church at Langdon, Rev. J. S. Hutchins officiated and burial was made in Fairview cemetery.

Griffith W. Jones was born in Portage, Wisconsin, and was 56 years of age at the time of his death. He was a son of Richard and Mary W. Jones, now deceased. He came to Clay county in 1869 and settled on a homestead in Meadow township. He lived in Spencer for about twelve years and while here conducted a pool hall. He recently lived in Montana on a homestead.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. I.N. Smith, of Cedar Rapids, Neb.; four brothers, Owen W., Win. A., Lewis and David E. of this county.
