Albert Woodruff was born in Jackson county, West Virginia, March 4th, 1829 and remained a resident of that state until 1865, when he moved to Illinois, where he lived six years and in April 1871 came to Spencer where he made his home until the time of his death which occurred in Chicago, Wednesday, Aug, 2, 1893, at 1 o'clock p.m. By the death of Mr. Woodruff, Spencer loses one of her oldest and most respected citizens, and his four children, Mrs. C. M. Whitman and Mrs. A.
Wettstein, of Chicago; Homer, of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mrs. H. Kumath, of this city, a kind and devoted father.The remains were brought to Spencer, for burial last Friday, the funeral services being held at the M.E. church of which Mr. Woodruff was a member.
