Fred Lachner Funeral

Last week we mentioned that Fred Lachner had died at his home in Wales, North Dakota. The body was brought to Spencer for burial, reaching here last Thursday afternoon. The funeral was held at the M.E. church Friday afternoon at two o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. O.M. Bond.

Mr. Lachner was about forty-eight years of age. For many years he resided in this vicinity, and he was a man of high purposes, upright in all his dealings, and one possessed of many warm friends. We have no data and can only give these details. We have heard numbers of the older settlers speak of him as one of the best citizens when he was living here, and from his home in North Dakota only words of commendation can be heard.
