Well Known Residents of Spencer Died Yesterday
Two men prominent in the business circles Spencer, passed away Wednesday morning when Ormsby Bisbee and Chas. C. Hastings died as the result of heart trouble. Mr. Bisbee's death came as a great shock to his friends, as it was not known that he was in a critical condition. Mr. Hastings had been in a very poor health for several months and his death was not unexpected.Ormsby Bisbee
Ormsby Blsbee, owner of the Bisbee Meat Market, on the east side of Main street, died suddenly Wednesday morning at eight o'clock at his home, 464 East Second street, being at the time of his death 38 years old. He has been quite seriously troubled with high blood pressure for the past year and his death was the result of heart failure. He was taken suddenly ill last night while at the meat market doing some work.
Mr. Bisbee is well known here, where he has always lived, moving here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Bisbee, thirty eight-years, ago, being at that time only a few months old. He attended school here and since then has been connected with different meat markets here. For a number of years he was in partnership with Walter Dickinson, buying him out in July, five years ago.
Ormsby Bisbee was born to Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Bisbee at Wauseka, Wisconsin, on January 12, 1887, moving to Spencer with them at the age of three months. He was united in marriage to Miss Magdeline Niles on December 14, 1906, at the home of her parents at Elkader, Iowa. They moved to Spencer immediately after their marriage. To this union were born four children, all of whom are at home now. They are Jack, Bernard, Norene and Lee.
Besides his wife and four children, he leaves to mourn his death, his father, J. L. Bisbee, of Spencer, and four sisters, Mrs. J.L. Breidinger of Spencer, Mrs. J. E. Gazely of Nekoosa, Wisconsin, Mrs. L.A. Good of Sturgis, Michigan and Mrs. R.A. Wiley of Nekoosa, Wisconsin.
His mother died in 1894 at Spencer and six years ago his brother, Ira Bisbee, died here.
Mr. Bisbee has made a great many friends during his life residence here and they regret to learn of his death. He is a member of the local lodge I.O.O.F.
