Death of Rev. N. K. Groenbeck.

Rev. N. B. Groenbeck died at his home in Clay township last Wednesday evening, of heart disease, at the age of sixty-seven years. The deceased was born on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. When a boy he started out to be a sailor but soon gave that up and became a traveling missionary having for his field the whole of Denmark. His folks were well-to-do people and opposed his becoming a missionary and as he did not heed their wishes they disinherited him. He came to this country about thirteen years ago and located in Clay county. At the time of his death he had charge of two Dane churches in this county, one in Clay township and one in Meadow.

Mr. Groenbeck leaves a widow and five children, besides a large circle of friends to mourn his loss.

The funeral services were held at the Congregational church in this city last Friday afternoon, Rev. Hanson, of Cedar Falls, assisted by Rev. Simenson, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, officiating.
