After hovering for six days between life and death Edward Johnson died Wednesday evening, May 10th, the result of an injury received in an automobile accident, which was mentioned last week. He was born in Spencer, July 29, 1890. Would have been 21 years old next July. He has grown up in Spencer and probably no one was better known to the community than he. He drove the laundry wagon for his father for many years, thereby becoming a familiar person at the homes of the town. He was a general favorite among the young people, always good natured and jolly, his ready smile, cheerful word and pre-eminently generous heart, made for him'many friends. He did not fully regain consciousness after the catastrophe, the fracture of the skull across the temple proving fatal. To appearance he seemed better all day Wednesday, but in the evening be quietly and peacefully passed over the river of death, into the great beyond, from whence no traveller has ever returned. Into the realm of a loving Heavenly Father, who understands all perplexities, and who is plenteous in compassion. He leaves behind a sorrowing father and mother, one brother, Henry and one sister, Mrs. Nora Ingalls, in Lewiston, Montana, whose health would not permit her to come to the funeral. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Thrush from the Congregational church Sunday afternoon. Interment was made at Riverside cemetery.
