Joseph Francis Bussell, 90, of Greenville, died Thursday, April 30, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.

Services were held Monday at the Warner Chapel with the Rev. Harrison Dawes officiating. Casket bearers were Allan Breidinger, Duane Kracht, Erwin Barglof, Dwight Sparks, Everett Amis and Donald Kracht. Burial was in Liberty cemetery, Greenville. The Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bussell was born Jan. 30, 1902, in Wisner, Neb., to Joseph and Karen Field Bussell. His childhood years were spent in the Wisner community where he received his early education and attended high school.

He farmed several years in Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota before moving to northwest Iowa. During World War II he entered the military and served with the army until his discharge in 1943.

On Nov. 5, 1943, he married Dorothy Evelyn Luft in Albion, Neb. Throughout their marriage they made their home in the Rossie-Greenville area. Mr. Bussell continued farming until 1985, when he retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters, one half-sister, and one half-brother.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kendall of Milpitas, Calif., and Kirby and his wife Helen of Spencer; and four grandchildren.
