Everett E. Kelsey, 1898-1922

Everett E. Kelsey was killed in an auto accident three miles south of Spencer early Monday morning, July 3, 1922, at the age of twenty-three years, nine months and twelve days. The body was brought to the Cobb undertaking parlors at Spencer and later removed to the home west of Royal.

Everett E. Kelsey was born October 21, 1898 on a farm seven miles west of Royal. He was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Les Kelsey. He had spent most of his life on the farm with his parents and had attended our Clay county schools. Besides his parents he leaves to mourn his untimely death two brothers, Paul and Arnold, and one sister, Gladys, who had been attending the summer school at Spencer. He was a nephew of Sam Jones and Mrs. Margaret Morgan of this city.

Funeral services were held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Danish Lutheran church in Royal, the pastor of that church being in charge. Burial was made in Riverside cemetery.
