Ruth Ella Allen, the daughter of Arthur and Georgia Logan Hamrick, was born August 10, 1928 in Gillett Grove, Iowa. She received her early education in Gillett Grove.

Ruth married Milo "Mike" Allen on December 31, 1945 in Jackson, MN. Following their marriage, they made there home in Spencer. Ruth worked at Stub's Ranch Kitchen for 16 years. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Spencer. Ruth enjoyed bowling, volleyball and golfing.

Ruth passed away on December 19, 2007 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 79. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike in 1991; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Ruth is survived by her two sons and their wives: Milo and Sharon of Sartell, MN and Melvin and Patty of Fairfield, IA; one daughter and her husband, Marla and Richard Kocher of Hudson, WI; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers: LaVern Hamrick and his wife, Edith of Spencer and Roland Hamrick of Michigan; one sister, Mavis Burgart and her husband, Clayton of New Hampton, IA; other relatives and friends.

Interment in Riverside cemetery
