Wealthy McCarger, 1838-1911

Last week was announced the death of Mrs. Wealthy McCarger, which occurred Tuesday, Dec. 19th, 1911. She was born in Ontario, Dec. 27, 1838. She was married to B. McCarger, Sept. 10, 1857. They moved to Wisconsin in 1873, and from there they removed in the spring of 1876, to Worth county, Iowa. They came to Clay county in 1880, thirty-one years ago. Four children were born to them, Mrs. L.E. Brady of Cedar Rapids, C.W. McCarger of Oskaloosa, L.H. McCarger of Danville and Mrs. G.B. Montford of Spencer. They are all living and were all present at the funeral, which was held at the home of Mrs. W.Z. Clark, Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. O.M. Bond, her pastor, as she was a member of the M.E. Church. The body was laid to rest in Riverside cemetery, and anon that which was "sown in weakness shall be raised in glory."
