Annie Elizabeth Stephenson Harris was born in Wilkes Barre, Pa., Dec. 10. 1850. Died at her home in Spencer Thursday. May 11, 1911. When a child she moved to Mineral Point, Wis. Was married at that place to Jas. K. Harris July 18, 1869. The family came to Iowa in 1881, and lived in Clay county 30 years, 20 of which have been in Spencer. Mrs. Harris has been in frail health for several years. On Wednesday, May 3rd, she suffered a stroke of paralysis, which was followed by a second one a week later, after which she lived but a few hours. She passed away peacefully as she had always lived, with full asurance and hope in her Savior. She was converted when a child, and was an honored member of the Christian Church when she died. She leaves behind a husband and three sons, J.F. Harris of Des Moines, J.C. Harris, pastor of the Christian church at Panora, Iowa, and J.W. Harris of Spencer. The funeral services were held from the Christian church, Rev. Pence, the pastor, preaching the sermon. Interment at Riverside ceemtery. Many relatives and friends from out of town were in attendance.
