Former Dickens Woman Dies at Sioux City

DICKENS: Mrs. Adrian Moore of Sioux City whose home was formerly in Dickens, passed away at her home in Sioux City at 1:15 Monday morning, Sept. 17, 1934. She was 48 years of age, being born March 24, 1886 at Arlington, Iowa.

In that community she grew to womanhood. In the year of 1906 Miss Anna Leibundquth became the bride of Adrian Moore. To this union were born two children, a daughter, Mrs. Wanda Toland of Council Bluffs, Iowa, who has been with her mother for over a year, constantly seeing that she had every care a daughter could give her, and a son, Lee K. Moore of the C.C.C Forestry Camp at Grand Maria, Minn.

Mother Survives
Since her marriage she has lived in three communities of Dickens, St. Paul, Minn., and Sioux City. The family has always cherished the memory of relatives and friends at Dickens, so natually this place was chosen as the final resting place. Besides her husband and two children, Mrs. Moore leaves her mother, Mrs. Leibundquth of Arlington; a sister, Mrs. Dykeman of Port Washington, Wis., and two brothers, Fred of LaSalle, Mo., and Charles of Waterloo, Iowa; also four nephews and one niece besides other more distant relatives.

Church Worker
She is remembered by relatives and friends as being devoted to performing her duties, and also conscientiously working for the good of the community in which she lived.

She professed the Christian faith early in life and actively identified herself with some church in every community she has lived, being a member of the Dickens Methodist church. When they moved to Sioux City she united with the First Baptist church. Her joy was greatest when in church life she was privileged to be a Sunday school teacher, teaching a class of young folks.

Funeral Wednesday
The funeral was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Moore, Mr. Moore's parents, at Dickens Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Hart of the Methoidst church conducting the service. Mrs. J. Elliot Gould of Spencer sang two songs, "Ring Those Golden Bells for You and Me" and "Abide With Me", accompanied at the piano by Mr. Gould.

She leaves a host of friends in this and other communities and they extended their deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.

Those from away who attended the funeral were besides the family: W.H. Gable of Arlington and his daughter, mrs. Bassett, Mrs. Dykeman of Port Washinging, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Fred leibundquth of LaSall, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Charley Leibundquth of Waterloo, Mrs. Leibundquth of Arlington and Mr. and Mrs. George Williams of Spirit Lake. They all returned to their homes Thursday morning.
