Norma Patrick Althoff, 1930-2006

Norma Jean Patrick Althoff, the daughter of Percy and Mae Corcoran Patrick, was born August 4, 1930, on a family farm near Peterson, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the Peterson area where she received her education, graduating from Peterson High School. She later attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, IA.

Norma married William (Bill) Althoff on November 12, 1949, at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal. Following their marriage, they lived on the family farm near Peterson. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal where she was an active member of the Altar Society, O.A.O. Club and the Red Hat Ladies in Peterson. She was a 4-H leader and a Music Booster President. Norma also enjoyed baking, playing cards, being with friends, playing the piano at home and will always be remembered as a good friend and kind person.

Norma passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, IA, on Thursday, January 5, 2006, at the age of 75. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; three sisters: Margaret Atherton, Katherine O'Brien and an infant sister, Florence; two brothers-in-law: Jay Atherton and Jerry O'Brien.

She is survived by her children: Claudia and her husband, Dan Seavert of Royal, IA, Paul Althoff of Peterson, IA, Lorraine and her husband, Jeff Smith of Council Bluffs, IA, Lisa and her husband, John Dahlman of Kirksville, MO and Mary Koeppe of Emporia, KS; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Lois Yarger, of Atlantic, IA; other relatives and many friends

Interment in Oakland cemetery
