Spencer Soldier Killed

Chris S. Anderson of Spencer, brother of Dr. J.L. Anderson o f Fostoria, was killed in action in France on Thursday, May 16th. Anderson enlisted in the aviation shortly after war was declared but was later transferred to the infantry. When the regular army was ready to be sent to France and the call came for volunteers to make up the required number he volunteered and was accepted. He was 29 years of age, coming to Spencer from Denmark when 12 years of age. He attended the Spencer schools and later studied law at the Iowa University. He enlisted in Oklahoma.
