Memorial services were held April 27, at the First Presbyterian church in Perry for Orville D Torbert, 80, of Perry who died April 20th in Mission, Texas, his winter home. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer on April 28th.

The son of Samuel and Florence Torbert, he was born January 8, 1912 in Spencer and lived there until moving to Perry in 1953. He owned and operated a grain elevator in Perry, retiring in 1974. He was a member of the church and the Perry Rotary.

Preceding him in death was his parents and one son, Dr Joe C Torbert in Akron in 1988.

Survivors include his wife Docia, one son Thomas; 2 daughters, Jane and Linda; and 8 grandchildren.

Memorial services for Orville D. Torbert, 80, of Perry, Iowa, were held Monday, April 27, at the First Presbyterian church in Perry. Burial services were Tuesday, April 28, at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer, Iowa.

Mr. Torbert died April 20, at his winter home in Mission, Tex. Mr. Torbert was born in Spencer, Iowa. He was a retired grain elevator owner/operator in Perry.

He is survived by his wife, Docia, of Perry; one son, Thomas of Moline, Il1.; two daughters, Janet of Willmar, Minn., and Linda of Loveland,
Colo.; and six grandsons and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Florence Torbert of Spencer, and one son, Dr. Joseph C. Torbert, of Akron.
