Ina Burnetta Goff, the daughter of Arthur and Etta Miller Goff, was born February 26, 1921, in Dickens, Iowa. Ina received her early education and graduated from the Lake Center School. Following her schooling, Ina entered the military and served with the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1942, until her honorable discharge in 1944.
Ina married Russell E. Goff on May 4, 1947, in Dickens, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived in Fostoria and later Ruthven. She worked as a sales clerk for J.C. Penney’s for 15 years until her retirement. Following her husband’s death in 1981, she moved to Spencer. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Ruthven. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Moose, Waves National, American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW.
Mrs. Goff passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa, on Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; one infant son, Randal; and one brother, Donald Johnson.
She is survived by one daughter, Renee Goff, of Spencer; one grandson, Brandon and his fiancé, Sarah Boyok; two sisters: Anna Thompson and Bonita Speight, both of Spencer; one brother and his wife, Alvin and Ruth Johnson, of Spencer; other relatives and friends.
