Mrs. Fannie Hagerty Dead
Fannie E. Hagerty, a beloved member of this community, unexpectedly passed into eternity last Saturday, November 11, shortly before noon. She had been sick but little more than one week with erysipelas. Funeral services will be held this (Wednesday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Christian church.
Fannie E. Mack was born in Vernon County, Wisconsin, August 20, 1862, and came to Clay county with her parents thirty years ago. She was married to James M. Hagerty, September 26, 1881. Her husband was killed a few years later by the breaking of an emery wheel and left her with two small children, a son, Dr. J. N. Hagerty, now located at Payette, Idaho, and a daughter, now Mrs. Winifred Wilkins, of Spencer. Besides the children she is survived by her aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Squire Mack, of this city, to whom her death will be a severe loss indeed, and one sister, Mrs. C. S. Weaver, also of this city.
For a quarter of a century the deceased has been an employee in the Clay county court house and most of that time has acted as Deputy in the office of the Clerk of the District Court. She was a good kind woman and a most efficient and accommodating official and leaves a host of sorrowing friends to sympathize with the bereaved relatives.
Interment in Riverside cemetery.
