F. H. Dempsey Services Held at Spencer

Funeral services for Francis Henry (Jack) Dempsey of Eagle, Wisconsin were conducted last Monday afternoon, February 5, 1962 from the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. The Rev. Daniel Cronrath, pastor of Hope Lutheran Church of Everly, officiated at the service.

Music was provided by Mrs. Gale Birdsall and Mrs. Ray Ihry, who sang "Ivory Palaces" and "In the Garden". Mrs. Wm. Slawson served as organist.

Pallbearers were: Mr. Jake Schoelerman, Mr. Gene Steuben, Mr. Clifford Fear, Mr. Kenneth Steffen, Mr. Robert Tesch and Mr. Edwin Lohse.

Interment was made in Lone Tree Cemetery near Everly.

Transportation for the floral tributes, pallbearers etc., was provided by Mr. Ben Steuben, Mr. Ed Jacobs, Mr. John Wieben and Mr. Terry Linnihan.

Following the service, a lunch was served to relatives and friends by the Rachel Circle of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.

Relatives in addition to the immediate family who attended the service were: a sister of the deceased, Mrs. Chester Aastrom; an aunt, Mrs. Julia Dempsey; cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Martinson and Mrs. Norva Dempsey all of Sisseton, South Dakota. Many other friends from Hartley, Royal, Spencer, Harris and Milford, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska also attended.

Prior to the funeral service in Spencer, a short service was held in Eagle, Wisconsin at the Mealy Funeral Home with Rev. L. Glenn Claringer of Waukesha, officiating.

Out of town people who attended the service at Eagle, were: Mrs. J. Burdin and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Nelson of Gary, Indiana; Mrs. Della Van Deuren and daughter Roselie of Madison, Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. John McMahon of Fox Lake, Illinois and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Pohlen of West Allis, Wisconsin.

OBITUARY

F. Henry (Jack) Dempsey the son of Dennis Dempsey and his wife Annie Jones, was born August 2, 1900, at Morris, Illinois. At the age of eight months he moved with his parents, to Sisseton, South Dakota. When seventeen years of age, he moved to the Everly Community. Here he met and married Mabel Jelden on October 11,1924. To this union, were born three sons and three daughters. In 1941 he moved his family to Waukesha, Wisconsin and in 1949 they moved to Eagle, Wisconsin where he resided at the time of his death. Three days prior to his death he was a patient in the Waukesha, Memorial Hospital where he passed away on February 1, 1962. Death was attributed to Uremia. He attained the age of sixty-one years, four months, and twenty-nine days.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Mabel, three daughters: Mrs. Doris Talmadge, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mrs. Joyce Rehfeldt, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and Mrs. Alice Pierce, Dallas, Texas; three sons: Gene of Eagle, Wisconsin, Gary of Compton, California and Russell of Wichita, Kansas; five brothers: Joseph, Maurice, Raymond and Dennis of Oregon and Clarence of California; two sisters: Mrs. Helen Burdin, Gary, Indiana and Mrs. May Aastrom, Eden, South Dakota and ten grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
