Everly Man Killed In Tractor Accident Tuesday
William Bliek, Jr., 49 year old Waterford township farmer was instantly killed about 5 p.m. when his tractor turned over on him. The accident occurred on a county road two and a half miles north of Everly. Bliek had just completed a day's work helping fill silo at the Wade Olson farm and was driving his tractor onto the county road to head for his own farm, located a mile north, to do his daily chores when the tractor tipped and pinned him underneath. Shortly after, the tractor left the road, turning completely over with the wheels in the air pinning Bliek underneath. When help reached him he was already dead, his unsmoked cigarette was still in his lips. Dr. Lyle Frink, Clay county medical examiner said Mr. Bliek died from a crushed chest. He is survived by a wife and five children, three of whom still reside at home. The body was taken to the Baumgarten funeral home at Hartley. Tentative arrangements call for funeral services for Friday afternoon.
